Mercedes-Benz announces 2012 SLK55 AMG Coupe – the most powerful SLK of all time

Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled their newest model for the 2012 year of the SLK-55 AMG Coupe - the most powerful SLK of all time. The new machine’s AMG 5.5-liter V8 engine not only roars, but it features a cylinder shutoff combined with low fuel consumption and top performance intact. The 415 horsepower (70hp more than previous model) is where it shines with a maximum torque of 398lb-ft. The 2012 SLK model will be 30% more efficient when using the Start/Stop mode alongside the AMG Cylinder Management system in the car, used to shut off four out of the eight cylinders with ease automatically. The new interior is stunning, as you would expect from top German manufacturer – it almost relates to the 2012 C-Class Coupe and its operation dashboard. Announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the SLK 55 AMG will be available in Germany for a starting price of € 72,590 and will be available for purchase in January 2012. No word on the U.S. price or availability as of yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do. For now, tune in to the complete gallery after the break of this new breathtaking AMG roadster.
